A Message from Mr Walker

09 September 2019

The 2019/20 school year got underway last week, and Headteacher, Mr Walker, took the opportunity to write a message to parents/carers of students at Penryn College.

“It was fantastic to welcome back our Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students, and greet our new Year 7 pupils and other new starters last week. This is a busy, yet wonderfully rewarding time of the year for all of the staff here at Penryn College, as we see our students take the next step in their academic lives, and witness Year 7 pupils begin a new, exciting chapter in their school careers.

“As the most senior students in the school, Year 11 now have the responsibility of acting as supportive, kind, and hard-working role models for their fellow students, and we are extremely confident in their abilities – particularly with the guidance and leadership of our Head Boy and Head Girl, Sebastien and Dora, along with our excellent team of prefects.

“Of course, our Year 8, 9 and 10 students are also expected to demonstrate the friendly, community-based, inclusive qualities that the school embodies, particularly to our new starters in Year 7.

“Indeed, all of the values and traits that parents/carers and our staff instil in our students were on display during last month’s GCSE Results Day – as former pupils, their families, and staff celebrated some fantastic achievements. It’s moments like these that we work so hard towards here at Penryn College, and we look forward to sharing more of these magical moments with all students and their families in the future.”
