The Penryn College Student Council is comprised of student representatives from all years. They meet once a month to discuss ideas, suggestions and concerns from students across the school. They work together with staff to help make decisions that will improve school life.
Members of the Student Council regularly give assemblies to report on their activities and seek further input from the rest of the school community.
Most recently the Council have worked to:
- Reduce litter
- Ease canteen queues
- Improve seating in communal areas
- Consult with senior management on the introduction of iPads
- Encourage the school to participate in UK Youth Parliament elections
Each year, the Student Council invite nominations from students and staff for the school charity and organise a voting process.
The Student Council’s activities uphold the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, tolerance of different beliefs and points of view, and individual liberty.
