KS4 – Year 10

In year 10 students will be following the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE course and study 4 units of work.

  • Medicine in Britain 12.50- present.
  • British sector on the Western Front 1914-18.
  • Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918-1939.
  • The American West. Unit 3.

 

They will also develop their skills in:

  • Describing key features of the period.
  • Analysing and evaluating source utility.
  • Framing historical questions.
  • Explaining causation / change.
  • Explaining consequences / significance.
  • Agreeing and disagreeing with a statement and making a conclusion
  • Writing analytical narrative accounts.

 

 

KS4 – Year 11

In year 11 students will be following the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE course and study 2 units of work.

  • The American West, c1835-1895.
  • Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918-1939.
  • Early Elizabethan England 1558-1588.

 

They will also develop their skills in:

  • Explaining consequences / significance.
  • Writing analytical narrative accounts.
  • Source inference
  • Explaining causation
  • Analysing and evaluating source utility.
  • Analysing and evaluating interpretations.
