Art Showcase: Costume Designs

These fantastic, eye-catching puppet, character, and costume designs were created by our Year 7 students, who have taken inspiration from Expressionists.

In recent weeks, Year 7 pupils have referred to their own research on Expressionism and come up with some imaginative ideas to bring emotion and atmosphere to life in their work.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Expressionists created artwork, films and theatre productions which evoked various emotions with their audience. To achieve this, they used dramatic light, shadows, and more.

Reflecting on her students’ work, Art Teacher, Miss Orford, said: “Our pupils have come up with some fantastic ideas, with great character and dramatic impact.”
