Coronavirus Update
07 May 2020Please see Mr Walker’s latest update below:
Good afternoon. Thank you for your continued support. The completion rate of work from the students is just incredible and we know how big a role you play in making this happen. We are, like you, waiting for this weekend’s announcement from the prime minister to see what happens next. We get no forewarning of what he may say, however, as you may expect, we are starting to think about what a return to school may look like – whenever and in whatever form this may be.
From feedback received, I know that some students have found the workload challenging. As usual, communication is key – there is no need for upset, please just talk to the individual teacher and they will make arrangements for that week. We have also received feedback regarding Showbie, and how class labelling would be helped with more clarity – so we have asked staff to label these classes with the subject first.
Year 11 transition programme
This is now up and running and covers every single course we can think of. Students applying for apprenticeships are being supported by Mrs Snowdon, so they can be well prepared for the next step. Please get your child involved – this will be a big help for the next steps. If your child has not signed up, please go to the Year 11 Showbie page and look at the course pages. It should be self-explanatory, but if you have any problems please contact kblackburn@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk or ksnowdon@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk.
Year 10 Fast Track RE
If your child is studying this course, we will be sending an e-mail to you this week detailing our proposal.
Thank you
As always, thank you so much for your support. Take care, and let’s see what this weekend brings.
