Coronavirus Update

28 May 2020

Please see Mr Walker’s latest update below:

Good afternoon.

I hope you are well, and have had some time to enjoy the glorious weather. The term starts again on 1 June, and all work will be set by midday on Monday – it will need to be completed by Friday 5 June at 10.00am. The completion of work last half term was absolutely remarkable, and the efforts of the whole school community in staying with this process will pay huge dividends.

As you know from my previous update, we have been busy planning to gradually and safely increase the numbers of students on the school site. We are also planning our response to the recent government request to provide some face-to-face support for Year 10 students, to supplement their online learning from 15 June. We would like to make it clear that any changes made will be gradual, and will be well planned, with safety at the absolute forefront of everything we do.

Over the half term, we have spent time redesigning the building, so that when the time is right we have the capacity to safely work with more students. Next week, we are looking forward to meeting all staff either on site or online to plan for this coming half term. This includes an induction on safely working on the school site, and approaches to the wellbeing of students. We believe our approach will allow us to be as prepared as possible.

I will endeavour to keep you updated each week. As always, your feedback and questions are so welcome – so please do not hesitate to contact me.

Enjoy the rest of your week and take care.
