GCSE Results Day Update

19 August 2020

Please see Mr Walker’s GCSE Results Day update below:

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow (Thursday 20 Augustfrom 8.30am onwards for our Exam Results DayWe willof course, be operating in a socially distanced and coronavirus-secure way, so we are going to have to keep those hugs within the family

As you will know, there have been considerable changes to the way GCSE grades have been calculated. Tomorrow, we will be in position to give students the GCSE grades we have, which will be accompanied with a detailed explanation outlining how the grades have been determined.

If your child is not able to collect their results, they will need to email the school (exams@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk) asking for the results to be sent to their school email address. These will be sent from midday onwardsPlease note that results will only be e-mailed to students’ school e-mail accounts. If you are collecting the results on behalf of your childthey will need to give written permission for you to do so. We will also be welcoming GCSE RE Fast Track students to the school tomorrow to collect their results.

Truro College have informed us that students should report their grades to them as planned on Thursday 20 August, using the time slot issued at interview. Cornwall College have informed us that students are guaranteed a place at the College, however, if students do not meet the required grades for their chosen course, they should phone Cornwall College to discuss further options. If your child is concerned about their college placement because they have not achieved the grades required, or for any other reason, please report to Mrs Snowdon or Miss Blackburn on Results Day – they will ensure you have a personal adviser who will guide and support your child through the next step.

We look forward to seeing you and your child tomorrow. We are so proud of them.
