Guests Help Year 9 Students Explore Gender Discrimination04 March 2020
Four professionals delivered a wide range of informative workshops on Wednesday morning, as part of Year 9’s non-fiction writing unit on identity.
Digital musician, Matt Ashdown, Designer, Lucie Hernandez, Potter, Karl Owen, and Skateboarder, Cora Stocker, led workshops on gender discrimination in the workplace – highlighting how their areas of work are not gender exclusive.
As part of the workshops, students had the opportunity to learn about each of the professions, and take part in practical activities – including the creation of their own digital music!
Year 9’s non-fiction writing unit on identity explores prejudice and stereotypes in gender, age, race, and disability.
A big thank you to each of the visitors for taking the time to visit the school and inform students.
