Holocaust Memorial Day

On Wednesday evening, students and members of staff marked Holocaust Memorial Day by placing candles in their windows to remember those who died during the Holocaust and other genocides, and to stand against all prejudice and hatred today.

Year 9 student, Ellie, did not have a candle to display, so she drew one to place in her window (see picture below). A very thoughtful idea, Ellie. 

Additionally, throughout the week, Year 9 pupils were taught about Hitler and the Holocaust in their History live lessons, before 30 students attended a Holocaust Memorial Day Zoom conference held by the University of Exeter on Friday afternoon.
