Penryn College Becomes Music Mark School

14 October 2021

Penryn College has been named as a Music Mark School, following nomination by the Cornwall Music Education Hub (CMEH).

Music Mark is a membership organisation, subject association and charity, which advocates for excellent music education for all children and young people. Its nomination system allows music hubs and services across the UK to nominate schools which they believe have shown a commitment to providing high-quality music education for the school community.

Reflecting on the fantastic news, Head of Music at Penryn College, Mrs Childs, said: “We are super excited that we have been recognised for our commitment to music. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Cornwall Music Education Hub for the nomination, and to Music Mark for rewarding and supporting us.

“It is wonderful to know that we have this support and, as always, we will continue to strive to provide the best opportunities possible for our school community,” continued Mrs Childs.

Indeed, to celebrate becoming a Music Mark School, Penryn College Music department has launched its very own Spotify channel, with an aim to develop students’ learning via a range of playlists linked to classroom work and extra-curricular projects.
