Pupils Begin Construction Course at Cornwall College
15 November 2023This month has seen our Year 11 Construction students begin their seven-week Vocational Academy course at Cornwall College!
The fantastic team of instructors have taught pupils lots of new skills, including welding (using a virtual welding machine), how to wire a plug, and more!
One of the first tasks saw students build a bridge using spaghetti, sellotape and string. The bridge had to hold an egg, or a parachute to drop an egg from height without it breaking!
Additionally, as part of their plug wiring task, our pupils measured the correct length of wire before securing the correct wires to the correct terminal, and then screwed the plug back together, ready to be inspected by course leader, Gareth.
Both groups of students have done a great job so far. Well done everyone!
