Pupils Enjoy Fantastic History Trip to Berlin

21 February 2023

Over 40 Year 11 students enjoyed a memorable field trip to Berlin, Germany over the February half term, organised by our History department.

The visit was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their understanding of the Paper 3 exam topics, whilst immersing themselves in the history and beauty of the city.

Led by an expert tour guide, the trip included a walking tour of Berlin – which took in a variety of key places from the history of Nazi Germany – including the Reichstag (German parliament building), Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, the Topography of Terror exhibition (in the remains of the SS and Gestapo headquarters), and the Olympiastadion Berlin.

Additionally, students had the opportunity to visit Checkpoint Charlie and the remains of the Berlin Wall.
