Students Produce Earthquake-Proof Models
22 February 2023As part of a Creativity Collaboratives project on earthquake-proof buildings and their importance in saving lives, our Year 9 Geography students recently made their very own model earthquake-proof constructions.
Thinking like designers and using a success criteria, students worked in groups to construct the buildings with spaghetti and marshmallows. That was before the big moment where Miss Greenaway shook the tables upon which the models were placed to test their effectiveness.
Pupils then had the opportunity to reflect on the results, after many of the models survived the test.
