KS4 – Year 10
In year 10 students will be following the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE course and study 4 units of work.
- Medicine in Britain 12.50- present.
- British sector on the Western Front 1914-18.
- Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918-1939.
- The American West. Unit 3.
They will also develop their skills in:
- Describing key features of the period.
- Analysing and evaluating source utility.
- Framing historical questions.
- Explaining causation / change.
- Explaining consequences / significance.
- Agreeing and disagreeing with a statement and making a conclusion
- Writing analytical narrative accounts.
KS4 – Year 11
In year 11 students will be following the new Edexcel 9-1 GCSE course and study 2 units of work.
- The American West, c1835-1895.
- Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918-1939.
- Early Elizabethan England 1558-1588.
They will also develop their skills in:
- Explaining consequences / significance.
- Writing analytical narrative accounts.
- Source inference
- Explaining causation
- Analysing and evaluating source utility.
- Analysing and evaluating interpretations.
