This week’s sports round up here!

18 October 2016

Sometimes the newsletter just doesn’t have the space for everything that happens on the sports field, so here is a weekly round up of what’s been happening.

Netball

The U12 and U13 Netball teams travelled to Torquay Grammar School yesterday to play in the second round of the School Sport Magazine National Schools Netball Cup. Fantastic team performances resulted in impressive wins for both teams.  Early next half term the U12s will play Cwm Rhymni, a Welsh side, and the U13s are to play Millfield School in the third round. Both matches will be played at Penryn College.   The U15s were successful in the first round beating Truro School and are due to play Glenmoor and Winton Academy in the second round  before half term. Dates TBC.

Netball v Pool: Year 7 lost, Year 8,9,10 and 11 won!

Football

Our Y8 boys moved into the 4th Round of the National Cup with a good 3-1 win over Mounts Bay, with goals from Treave Rowe, Tyreece Galloway and Jon-Jon Wharton.

The Y10 team made their way into the 3rd round with a comprehensive 12-0 win over Humphry Davy.  The boys will now play Devonport in Round 3.   This means that at October half term Boys Y8, Y9, Y10, Y11 and U15 Girls teams are all still in the competition!

Well done to Joe Mcllroy, Harrison Jewell, Sam Pickup and Alex Wharton who represented West Cornwall U15s in the ESFA National Cup defeat at Torbay.
