Year 10 Construction Visit to Cornwall College

10 January 2024

Wednesday saw our Year 10 Construction Vocational Academy pupils enjoy their first workshop at Cornwall College!

Starting the day, students had a tour of the Brunel Building, before learning about the different courses and apprenticeships on offer at the college and the grades that are required to enrol.

The group then took part in some team-building activities, constructing a bridge out of dried spaghetti, sellotape and string that could hold an egg for 15 seconds. That was before another task, which saw pupils make a paper parachute strong enough to drop an egg from height without it breaking!

Our students all worked very well together, each constructing a sturdy bridge and parachute. Well done everyone!
