Safeguarding

Improving outcomes for all children and young people underpins all of the development and work within this school.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and as such our school aims to create the safest environment within which every student has the opportunity to achieve. Our school recognises the contribution it can make in ensuring that all registered students or others who use our school feel that they will be listened to and appropriate action taken.

We do this by working in partnership with other agencies and seeking to establish effective working relationships with parents, carers and other colleagues to develop and provide activities and opportunities throughout our curriculum that will help to equip our children with the skills they need. This includes materials and learning experiences that encourage our children to develop essential life skills and protective behaviours, including those which keep them safe from the risks of radicalisation and child sexual exploitation (CSE).

Please navigate the ‘Advice & Support’, '@Talk App', 'E-Safety Advice' and ‘Useful Links’ tabs below to access different safeguarding-related information.

If you have any queries about safeguarding, or safeguarding concerns you believe the school should know about, please contact the school and ask to speak to anyone from the Safeguarding team.

The @Talk app is installed on our pupils’ iPads and provides an easy way for students to message members of staff directly if they have a concern about their wellbeing, or any issues/concerns which they cannot resolve themselves.

E-Safety Advice

At Penryn College, we recognise that the internet and new technologies provide opportunities for young people to enhance their learning in new and exciting ways. However, these opportunities should also be explored alongside a sound understanding of the risks that young people might face. You can access a range of information regarding E-Safety below, including our ‘E-Safety – Student Tips’ poster.
