The Head Student Process 

Students first had the opportunity to speak to the Year 11 senior student leadership team to find out what the role entails.  
Then they wrote an application and were selected for interview where they presented on an aspect of school life that is important to them.  For example, they chose to present on Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Special Education Needs and Disabilities or Student Welfare. Students answered questions following their interview, and were scored on their application, presentation and responses to questions in the interview. 

The Head Students will work alongside school leaders to promote a positive school culture and support student wellbeing. They act as ambassadors for the school and contribute to the organisation of school events and initiatives. They have already been involved in staff interviews and Y6 transition and along with other members of the student leadership team they attended the Changemakers Summit at the Cornwall Council.
