Student Leadership
Student Leadership Groups
Students across year 7 to year 11 have the opportunity to join 1 of 7 student leadership groups. Teaching & Learning, Behaviour & Culture, EDI, Sustainability, SEND, Reading and Welfare & Wellbeing. Each group is comprised of student representatives from all years. These representatives meet once a month to discuss ideas, suggestions and concerns from students across the school. They work together with staff to help make decisions that will improve school life.
In addition to this, there are leadership opportunities for students from year 7-11 to become Sports Leaders, Peer Mentors or Anti-bullying Ambassadors and achieve the Diana Award. These students play a vital role within school supporting students in day to day life, to act as role models and support our incredible transition offer.
Students in year 11 are encouraged to apply for a prefect role. Prefects engage in all aspects of our school community supporting staff recruitment, school tours, hosting events and much more. We proudly have a team of Head Students who along with other student leaders regularly deliver assemblies, report on their activities and seek further input from the rest of the school community.
Each year, the Senior Prefect Team invites nominations from students and staff for the School Charity, and organise a voting process.
Student Leadership activities uphold the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, tolerance of different beliefs and points of view, and individual liberty, and we are proud that so many of our students hold leadership roles in our school.
