Parents and Students Collaborate for End-of-Year Poem

11 July 2024

Penryn College’s students and parents joined forces this week to create a fantastic end-of-year poem, started off by our English department.

During our Key Stage 3 Achievements Evening, two sheets of paper were stuck to the wall with a pen, and attendees were encouraged to write down some words.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Check out the poem below!

Collective Poem

As the final page is turned and books are slowly closed
We reflect on our school year, and how we’ve met our goals
We cheer, we laugh, we celebrate, with our family and our friends
And think of all the things we’ll do, before our summer ends

Then we break up from school and the real fun starts
Then we will rejoice and eat some lemon tarts,
About to join Year 8
Excitement and fun – we cannot wait!

We will go to the beach and play sports with our friends
And pick up all of the parts
When the tide comes in
We will go for a swim

When the rain comes down
Darkness will fall on us
And then light will come
And break the depression

And tomorrow England will stay in possession!
We will win the trophy
And Year 8 will bring a new
Adventure for us to see through

So, onwards! To our exciting, vibrant and inspiring futures
Thanks very much for nice teachers and tutors.
