Pupils Complete University Reading Programme

Over the last 10 weeks, a group of our Year 7 students have taken part in the Falmouth University and Bournemouth University Books and Stories reading programme – designed to nurture students’ love for reading, develop comprehension and build confidence.

Indeed, after spending 10 weeks in school reading and discussing the chosen books, the students were invited to Falmouth University for a graduation ceremony, where they received prizes for their hard work and participation, as well as a breakfast of juice and croissants!

And speaking following the graduation ceremony, English teacher, Miss Plunkett, was full of praise for the pupils.

“We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping out of their comfort zones during this programme,” said Miss Plunkett.
