Fantastic Guest Lecture on Classical Civilisations

We were delighted to welcome Truro College’s Classical Civilisations lecturer, Stuart, into the school this week to deliver a taster session/lecture about this fascinating subject!

Humanities Team Write-Up

A big thank you to the students who signed up for this lecture and engaged so brilliantly, making it a really great afternoon. It turns out many of our students already know a lot, have read lots and could make some fantastic contributions.

We started the afternoon looking at some Roman replica artefacts (pictured) and working out what they were used for. However, a big focus of the afternoon was on ancient Greece and their religious beliefs.

A particular well done to those students who chose to produce an independent piece of work in the lead up to this event. Stuart set a brief with a variety of tasks and we had some outstanding assignments, including essays, research PowerPoints, and even a comic strip of a Greek myth.

A big thank you to Stuart for his time and expertise. Please keep your eye out for more opportunities coming soon in the Autumn term!
