17 May 2024

Year 10 student, Arthur, has become one of the first winners of an award created to help ‘Cornwall’s brightest young minds’ begin careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) industries.

Aspiring design engineer, Arthur, was recently presented with the Young & Talented Cornwall ‘Spirit of Trevithick Award’, which will see him work alongside a Cornwall-based company or innovator for expert advice, and have access to around £2,000 to develop a project.

The awards ceremony took place at the University of Exeter, where Arthur and his fellow award winners were congratulated by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho.

Huge congratulations, Arthur! We’re really excited to hear how this project develops!
