Charity Week sees sudents fundraise for GOSH

28 November 2017

Charity week was in full swing last week at Penryn College.  Fundraising activities included cake bakes and a bin bag fashion show challenge through to non-uniform day and staff versus students in basketball.  The events were organised by the Charity Prefect team with all proceeds going to GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital).  This was unveiled as the School’s chosen charity in September.  Mr Walker said “I am incredibly proud of the students and their support during charity week.  The efforts some of our students have gone taken to raise money is outstanding.  The school had a real buzz all week and it was fantastic to walk around the school at lunch times to see students taking part in cahoot quizzes or listing to the musical talents of some students who were performing in the main areas.”  Last year’s Prefects raised the highest ever amount for charity collecting £2143.81 for Stanley’s Friends.  The current Senior Prefect team will continue their fundraising efforts for GOSH throughout the school year and are hoping to set a new record for the amount of money raised!
