Head Students Express Their Delight in Representing Penryn College

14 December 2021

Year 11 students, Jake and Eithne, have described representing the school as Head Students for the 2021/22 academic year as “surreal” and “exciting”.

Jake and Eithne were appointed as Head Students in September, along with Deputy Head Students, Poppy and Julian; Senior Students, Connie, George, Megan, Rebecca and Fox; and a wider Senior Prefect and Prefect team.

And speaking in a recent interview, both Jake and Eithne reflected on the moment they learned of their new roles.

“It felt very surreal at first, but immediately after I felt so excited for the opportunities and experiences ahead,” said Eithne.

“I really wanted the opportunity to give back to the school, as it has done so much for me, and this is a chance for me to do that,” she continued.

And Jake said: “When I was told I had become a Head Student, I was thrilled and excited for the opportunities ahead.

“Penryn College has helped me develop as a person in so many ways, and I feel so privileged to give back to the school community, along with the amazing team of fellow pupils.”

Indeed, Jake and Eithne have already represented Penryn College as Head Students during several events, and both pupils expressed their delight in playing their part, while sharing their thoughts on the months ahead.

“I am really enjoying the role and working with the team to find ways of enhancing the school,” said Eithne.

“I believe that we can really make a difference and create the best environment for students. I can’t wait for the months ahead!”

And Jake said: “I have felt proud while representing Penryn College during recent events and tours, and I am also enjoying forming plans with the team to help enhance the school. I am looking forward to the rest of the school year!”

All staff at Penryn College wish the Head Student, Senior Student, Senior Prefect and Prefect teams the best of luck in their roles for the remainder of the academic year.
