A Roscoff shopkeeper – bemused after seeing groups of students trundling up and down the small, cobbled streets outside of her shop over the past few days – summed it up perfectly when she approached us and said, “Ils sont magnifiques” – and they were!

Whether it was ordering ice creams, playing charades, watching a film in the cinema, asking for directions when getting us lost navigating, cycling in the pouring rain, or having to stand up in front of an entire restaurant to sing as a forfeit for having their phones out, the pupils were truly ‘magnifiques’!

They approached every challenge with smiles, resilience and good humour, and we lost count of the number of times members of the public came up to say how proud we should be of the students.

Although many locals couldn’t believe we had chosen to spend a week in Roscoff, it is an idyllic location!
