Penryn College Hosts Inspiring ‘Biggest Ever Football Session’

To celebrate this month’s International Women’s Day, we hosted the #LetGirlsPlay Biggest Ever Football Session for the second year running, with over 200 girls across seven different schools taking part!

This Youth Sport Trust national campaign aims to get as many girls as possible playing football on the same day in schools across England.

Indeed, the event saw our PE team run an U13 7-a-side tournament and an U15 11-a-side tournament on our synthetic turf pitch (STP) and grass pitches.

And, adding to the fun-filled day, there was a giant inflatable football dartboard and ‘beat the goalie’ game to keep the players entertained between their matches, kindly provided by the Football Fun Factory!

A big thank you to Richard Lander, Pool, Mullion, Redruth, Camborne, and Penair for attending what was a brilliant showcase of how far women’s and girls’ football has grown in Cornwall!
