Penryn College Praised by Ofsted Following ‘Good’ Rating
12 September 2022Penryn College has been praised by Ofsted for its “exciting curriculum” and “inclusive” values, following a recent inspection where it was rated as a ‘good’ education provider.
In a recently published report, Ofsted inspectors describe Penryn College as a “happy and welcoming school” where pupils are “encouraged to think carefully about their next steps and be aspirational for the future”, and that “there is an ethos of ‘having a go’ without fear of failure.”
The report also states that, during the inspection, pupils told inspectors how “everyone is treated equally and discrimination is not tolerated.” Additionally, it is noted that parents of students learning in the Area Resource Base (ARB) – which caters for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities – say that their children are “thriving” at the school.
Reflecting on the Ofsted report, Headteacher, Mrs Schouten, said: “We are delighted that so many areas of Penryn College have been praised in this report.
“Our staff continue to work tirelessly to ensure the best possible education for each and every student, but it is the students, their families, and staff working together that makes the school special.
“As staff, we continue to thoroughly enjoy what we do and our students continue to thrive.”
