Students’ Achievements Recognised in Year 9 Graduation Ceremony

17 July 2019

Awards, musical performances, dance performances, and a guest speaker – there was a jam-packed order of events for the Year 9 Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday night, as students, parents/guardians, and staff celebrated the achievements of our Year 9 pupils.

Kernewek Hall was the venue, and Izzy, Kyran, Jenny, and Kaiya, members of the Year 9 Graduation Committee, were the comperes for the evening, introducing seven different award categories including: the Department Awards, 100% Attendance Awards, Bronze Awards, Silver Awards, Gold Awards, Platinum Awards, and the Dave Thomas Cup.

Away from the award presentations, Professor Stephan Harrison, Climate Scientist at Exeter University, delivered a fantastic guest speech – detailing his inspirational mountain climbs and providing insight into his career. Meanwhile, there were fantastic musical performances from the Year 9 Graduation Choir and Zena, Nancy, Ruby, and Annabelle, before the Year 9 Dancers dazzled spectators with their ‘Evolution’ performance.

A huge congratulations to all Year 9 students for their fantastic achievements during their three years at Penryn College!
