Cross Country

National Finals at The Grammar School, Leeds

After their fantastic success at the County and Regional events, our Junior Boy’s Cross Country team finished in a very respectable 19th place out of 27 schools during this weekend’s National Finals in Leeds.

Commenting on the team’s performance, Mr Nancarrow said: “The boys represented the school exceptionally well and their commitment to training paid off with the results.”

A big well done to team members: Josh, Zephrin, Ed, Sam, Mattias and Joshua.

Hockey

U16 Mixed Hockey Tournament at Truro School

Two of our Hockey teams competed in an entertaining mixed gender tournament last week.

The competition saw Penryn produce some fantastic passages of play, and for some pupils, it was their first time representing the school.

Well done, everyone!

Cornwall School Games

A big well done to all Penryn College, Penair School and Camborne Academy students who took part in last week’s Cornwall School Games events!

The competition – which offers pupils of all abilities the opportunity to represent their school in sport – saw our Year 9 & 10 Tag Rugby team and Year 8 Netball team qualify for the School Games Finals, which will take place on Wednesday 14 December at Penryn College!

Basketball

Year 7  Jnr. NBA South West League at Penryn College

Our Year 7 Basketball team registered two fantastic victories against Poltair School and Treviglas Academy in the Jnr. NBA South West League last week.

The wins leave Penryn top of the mini league, with Camborne Academy and Fowey River Academy their next opponents, as each of the teams pursue a place in the Regional Finals next year.

Well done, everyone!

Netball

Year 7-11 Netball v Penair School (Away)

Our Year 7-11 Netball teams took part in a set of fixtures against Penair School earlier last week, with our Year 8 and 11 teams picking up victories and our Year 7, 9 and 10 teams losing their matches.

All teams put in strong performances, with Hattie (Year 7), Sarah (Year 8), Izzy (Year 9), Lola (Year 10) and Hannah (Year 11) picking up Player of the Match awards.

Well done, everyone!

Rugby

Year 9 Rugby v Redruth School – County Cup (Home)

Thursday afternoon saw our Year 9 Rugby team exit the County Cup following a quarter-final defeat to Redruth School.

In what was a hugely entertaining and competitive clash, which saw both sides play some fantastic rugby, Redruth came from behind to claim the victory.

Led by team captain Jack, Penryn demonstrated fantastic togetherness and team spirit, with Will, Fionn and Toby earning the joint Player of the Match award.

Congratulations to Redruth on the victory and good luck in the next round!

Year 7 and 10 Rugby v Mullion School (Away)

Our Year 7 and 10 Rugby teams took part in two well-spirited games against Mullion School this week, with the Year 10s picking up a win and the Year 7s losing their match.

Players from both teams gave their all, with Zane (Year 7) and Ethan (Year 10) picking up the Player of the Match awards.

Thank You
