Cricket

U13 Girl’s Indoor County Cricket Finals at Truro College

Last week saw our U13 Girl’s Cricket team narrowly miss out on the County Cup trophy, following a one-run loss to Richard Lander School.

After progressing out of their group with two fantastic wins against St Ives and Richard Lander, Penryn defeated Liskeard in the semis to set up a repeat fixture against Richard Lander in the final.

The nail-biting encounter saw both teams produce some fantastic play with the bat and ball, with Richard Lander securing the tournament victory.

Well done, girls, and congratulations to Richard Lander!

The boys placed second in the group – becoming the first Penryn College side in history to make it to the knockout stages of a regional hockey tournament – before a narrow quarter-final defeat to eventual finalists, Dean Close School.

Commenting on the boys’ performances, Mr Shepherd said: “The team played fantastically well, showcasing some brilliant hockey.
