Sports Summary – 25 November – 1 December

Another week of exciting sports fixtures!

Check out the highlights below…

Hockey

Following their County Tournament success earlier this month, our U16 Girls’ Hockey team travelled to Millfield School this week to compete in the Regional Tournament.

The girls played brilliantly as a team and stuck to their principles of play throughout the day, allowing them to head into the final pool game knowing that a victory against their opponents (Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School) would see them top their group.

Unfortunately, the girls came up just short and narrowly lost, but should be incredibly proud of their performances.

Netball

It was fantastic to see our netball teams from each year group in action against Redruth on Thursday evening!

There were some fantastic performances from all teams involved, with Penryn winning four of the five games.

Earlier in the week, our U15 Netball team travelled to Southampton for their third round School Sport Magazine Cup fixture v King Edward VI School.

Despite a brave display, the girls suffered a defeat, but can be very proud of their performances in the national competition.

Basketball

Our U16 Boys’ Basketball team recorded an impressive victory against Penrice earlier this week, strengthening their position in the Area Cup mini league.

Well done, lads!

Football

After a fantastic run in the National Cup, reaching the last 64 out of nearly 500 teams, our U13 Girls’ Football team exited the competition following a defeat to Torpoint.

Commenting after the match, Mr Ash said: “Both teams produced a brilliant cup tie, full of quality.

“In the end, Torpoint were the more ruthless side, but Penryn can be very proud of their performance.

“A special mention to Players of the Match, Ceana and Livvy,” added Mr Ash.
