St Piran’s Day

07 March 2016

This month the College hosted a variety of activities for pupils and staff to celebrate St Piran’s Day – the National Day of Cornwall. A cake sale was held, serving-up cupcakes decorated with the Cornish flag, saffron buns and delicious cream teas. The cake sale raised £68 for Mercy Ships.

A pasty judging competition took place in The Street at lunchtime, where staff taste-tested a variety of pasties baked by pupils and colleagues, with flavours including tofu vegetable curry and Cajun chicken. Luckily there were no soggy bottoms! A tug of war proved to be a popular activity with the students, as the school field was overrun with those wishing to show their skills with the rope and beat their friends in a battle of strength.
