Students Enjoy Inspiring Women in Engineering Event

10 July 2023

Last month saw 200 girls from schools across Cornwall – including 13 of our Year 8 pupils – take part in a special event at Truro High School, celebrating the opportunities for women in engineering.

During a time when, arguably, it’s never been more important to address the shortage of engineering skills, our students enjoyed a fun-filled and informative day of activities, including chocolate welding – which demonstrates the basic principles of welding – and disaster relief tasks.

Additionally, pupils in attendance met engineering experts from a variety of companies, including keynote speaker, Joanna Murray, a Senior Building Surveyor at Ward Williams Associates (property and construction consultants).

A big thank you to Truro High School and its partner organisations for providing an action-packed day of discovery and inspiration!
