Styling Workshop for Hair & Beauty Pupils

Our Vocational Academy Hair & Beauty students returned to Cornwall College’s Koko Salon on Wednesday to continue their learning!

This week, pupils worked in pairs as hair stylists and clients.

First, the hair stylists detangled the hair before testing its porosity and elasticity to determine which products to use.

The next step saw the stylists wash the clients’ hair using a method learned last week. They shampooed the hair twice, using the rotary technique, before conditioning it with the effleurage and petrissage techniques.

Concluding the session, the stylists took the clients back to their chairs and detangled the hair, before sectioning it and applying a deep conditioning treatment. The hair was then rinsed and blow-dried.
