U16 Rugby Players Reach County Cup Final For Second Season Running

Massive congratulations to our U16 Rugby team who last week reached the County Cup final following a fantastic home victory against Budehaven Community School.

A lightning start saw the boys race into an early first-half lead, before Bude grew back into the game, but a number of monstrous tackles in defence from Jack, Adam and Freddie kept the visitors at bay.

The second half then saw Penryn extend the lead, with our finishers maintaining the intensity to help secure a coveted spot in the County Cup final.

Indeed, the victory means that the squad will line up against Newquay Tretherras next month with an opportunity to retain their status as champions of Cornwall.

Following the match, the boys thanked Mr Gibson, who coached them for the final time last week. We wish him the best of luck on his new adventure!
