Vocational Academies Return!

This week saw our Year 10 and 11 Vocational Academies make a return!

These practical sessions involve students getting involved with local projects and visiting Cornwall College/Duchy College to learn about various skills, including Hair & Beauty, Construction, Animal Care, and more!

Indeed, our Year 10/11 Hair & Beauty students had their first session at Cornwall College’s Koko Salon on Wednesday.

First, the group were shown around the salon, before learning how to wash hair correctly and the theory behind it.

Pupils then learned how to separate hair into sections (a ‘hot cross bun’) and how to blow dry it correctly.

All of our students were enthusiastic and engaged in their learning throughout the session, receiving high praise from Ann, their course leader!
