Weekly Transition Update
17 July 2020Please see Mrs Walker’s latest update below:
Good afternoon. I hope you are well. If your child has been in school, I hope he or she has enjoyed the final few days of primary school.
Stepping Stones – Thursday 20 August
Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to cancel our Stepping Stones day due to the current situation. Please reassure your child that their first day in September will be an induction day with their tutor, with lots of activities similar to those that would take place on Stepping Stones day.
Acceptable Use Policy for iPads
A reminder to return the signed ‘Acceptable Use Policy for iPads’ form so that your child can be issued with an iPad in September. If you require another copy of the form, please e–mail secretary@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk. These forms need to be returned to Penryn College as soon as possible.
PE kit – AGAME
AGAME staff will be on the school site on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 September, from 3.45pm – 5.00pm for collection and exchange of PE kit.
September
In September, we aim to deliver a full curriculum to all students, including Study Support, where possible. Pupils will be taught by their specialist teachers. In order to achieve this, we will be following the government’s advice and ensuring students remain in their ‘year group bubbles’. We will also ensure we reduce the amount of contact between students and staff as much as possible, particularly indoors.
As you might expect, the preparations we are making are extensive, so that the school can operate as safely as possible, while still maintaining a sense of normality. However, there will be some changes to the way the school operates, and we will be writing to you next week to outline the key differences and what can be done to help prepare students. We will then follow this up with more information during the week beginning Monday 17 August.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.
