Year 10 Rugby Players Crowned Joint County Schools Champions

14 February 2019

Year 10’s Rugby players were crowned joint County Schools champions on Wednesday afternoon, following their enthralling 24-24 draw with reigning champions Redruth School at Truro RFC.

In what was a ferocious, fantastically entertaining encounter, Penryn narrowly trailed for a majority of the match, before taking the lead with less than five minutes remaining.

But Redruth’s dogged determination helped them register a converted try in what was the final play of the game to level proceedings.

Due to RFU regulations, no extra time was permitted, meaning the decision was made to crown both teams as County Schools champions.

A huge congratulations to the boys for another fantastic performance!
