Year 9’s Fantastic Comic Strip Designs
16 February 2021Our STEAM teachers have been blown away by the quality of Year 9’s lockdown-themed comic strip designs, which they have produced as part of a competition.
Students were tasked with creating an original comic strip based on lockdown life in the Kawaii style – a culture of ‘cuteness’ in Japan which is featured in anime and comics.
Using their high-level graphic design skills, pupils produced some wonderful pieces of work, which include lots of humour and detail. Due to the quality of the work, teachers spent many hours putting together a list of 30 finalists – meaning many fantastic pieces of work had to be left out.
We’ve included the comic strips of the pupils who were selected as winners (Lotta and Oscar) and runners-up (Charlie and Imogen) below. Huge congratulations, guys and girls!
